Default RIP Stza Erza

Hi everyone. Haven't been on in a while. Would have never though I'd have to make a post like this... I'm shocked and heartbroken. I have lost a close friend forever. His name was Dustin aka Stza Erza in GW. Sir Chunkalot on GWG. It really hurts me to see something like this happen... he was a very friendly guy and I will miss him a lot . He had so many dreams and plans about his future and all of it just shattered in a matter of a few hours.

Here's a link to what happened:
http://www.9news.com/news/article.as...3&provider=top

RIP Dustin. We won't forget you.
You never think things like this will happen to you but it's the 3rd time my friends make the news and all of it is bad news. Just makes me value my life more and be happy that I'm alive every day. I suggest you guys and gals do the same because you never know what will happen tomorrow.

There should be no sympathy for those who are the causes of their own death. Any dreams or plans for his future were thrown away by his own hand, so I cannot feel sorry for him and neither should anyone else. I do however feel sorry for those who lost a friend and didn't have the chance to stop him, in-game or irl. Hopefully they can learn from his mistake and not make the same one in the future.

I just found out recently as well, I've been inactive for awhile. Broke my heart when someone told me, I didn't believe it right away. Hopefully his family is doing alright.

I feel sympathy toward his friends and family, definitely. It's sad to hear another teen dead by overdose of illegal drugs (or drugs done illegally, whichever may be the case).

The promoter stated that he wished this could have been avoided. It could have by not offering the drugs in the first place. *shrug*

That's all I will say. I'm sorry for your loss.

Moral of the story: Don't do drugs.

Honestly, I have little sympathy for him. He chose to do a cheap, dirty drug, and he overdosed. However, I do feel sorry for his family and friends. Losing someone to drugs is very sad.

The people getting my sympathy is his friends and family. He chose to do drugs and he should have been aware of the aftermath. I don't think Flamingmetroid is trolling because that's my honest opinion as well.

I agree on the point that this is natural behavior on behalf of humans; there are alot of hypocrites out there who are confident that they would never take 3 pills instead of 2. The bad decisions are shared by many, although only one pays for them. There's also a fine line between being trolled and being told what you don't want to hear; emotionally many people can't recognize the difference.

Most people don't appreciate bluntness, but the best thing you could do for a self-destructive person is to let him know in clear terms you don't accept the behavior. I don't suggest making it personal by attacking or abandoning the person; but someone has to stand up at some point and tell someone what they did is wrong. If they can't take the truth, you still did everything you could to preserve the friendship.

Playing a role in your own demise is a selfish act. And it's one people take part in without realizing that they are leaving people behind who were somewhat dependent on them. Everyone he came in contact with is now going to have to quickly readjust to the situation based on his actions. If he was planning on throwing his life away, the least he could have done was to give everyone else a chance to handle the situation easier.

Maybe people need to realize that when they do something stupid, that other people aren't going to have all nice things to say about them. At least the fear of being stigmatized could have an effect on those who come after. It's kind of pointless to now give people special recognition in death that they would have needed in life to prevent them from doing something to themselves. He could have used the trolls criticizing him on his behavior beforehand.

As hard as it may be to believe not all 18 year olds are rational and aware of their mortality or the consequences of their stupid choices on others. Shocking, I know, but just because many of you know better doesn't mean this person did, and unfortunately he didn't take it to the point where he realized this and backed off before he took it too far. It's unfortunate for everyone who's affected.

Losing someone is never easy, regardless of how they go.

I'm sorry for you loss. Shouldn't have to be this way. None of it should.

People will keep on doing drugs even if things like this happens. It should be: Don't be an idiot when doing drugs. All drugs do you damage.

He was drinking alcohol, huge amount of sugar and caffeine and then does 3 E tablets. He should have been wiser about his choices and more careful, but he wasn't and this is the consequence.

Sad to see this happen, such a waste of life. Talked to him in game a few times and he was always really nice - unlike many in the guild wars community that run around calling everyone a noob and endlessly talking crap.

Was a bad choice - do not condone drugs, and think it is not the smart thing to do, but I also do not see the use in saying you should have no sympathy. Just not necessary. It was a bad idea, but I think most everyone does stupid things in life. Also, I have a few friends that got tangled in drugs, due to depression, bad family life, and tons of other hard situations to "get away". You do not know the situation, do not know what is going on in someones life - and it is stupid sitting here arguing about it. A life was wasted, and it is a sad thing to see. My prayers go to the family and friends of those that are involved.

I agree those were unnecessary. Emotion carried me away when I saw "drugs" which made me rage since these thing tends to happen frequently and it's very unfortunate. Should have said this first time and end it there but if I'm not too late, RIP.

Guess grinding titles for GW2 wasn't addictive enough for him. ArenaNet is clearly to blame for this travesty. If only their game was more fun... If only...

Good post,- so true! We all make bad choices sometimes, if not drugs then something else.
Sometimes, a bad choice will cost a young person his/her life.
Personally, I am reminded, at such times, to be grateful that my own bad choices didn't cost me my life.
It is also a time to reach for that tiny speck of humanity you have left and feel for people's loss,- instead of pointing out the obvious in a callous manor.

"I don't need drugs to enjoy it... Just to enhence it!''

But other good quote is:

"Ashes to ashes, dust to dust. We gotta fight some robots!"

Or.

"Maaarge, change the channel..."

To those that have no sympathy because it was his choice: can't you be sympathetic that he made a bad choice?
